Chess in schools, institutes and staff games 8

Chess in Riga schools is visible mainly through the tournaments they host and enter. Rīgas Valsts 2. ģimnāzija, Rīgas 22. vidusskola and Š. Dubnova Rīgas Ebreju vidusskola appear on the tournament server as organisers or halls, as does the children’s and youth centre Daugmale on Jēkabpils iela. The Transport and Telecommunication Institute on Lauvas iela co-organises youth team events with Rīgas Šaha skola and hosts school olympiad finals.

Mārupes Valsts ģimnāzija plays in the Mārupe municipality, and Rīgas 89. vidusskola in Mežciems named a chess section in a 2023 news item on its own site. The chess day of the armed forces’ sports games is held at the Ādaži military base. These are places for pupils, students or service members; no page states that outsiders may join, so each card shows access as not stated.
